Imation encourages its customers to recycle their used televisions and computers, and to keep up-to-date with the latest recycling laws and requirements in their home state. California Electronic Waste Recycling Act
California's Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003 designated that certain electronic products are covered by a fee and a payment system to encourage the proper recycling of the products when they become waste. "Covered electronic devices" and "covered electronic wastes" include:

  • Televisions and computer monitors that contain a cathode ray tube
  • Monitors that contain a liquid crystal display (LCD) display
  • LCD and plasma televisions
  • Laptop computers
  • Portable dvd players with screens

Maine's Household Television and Computer Monitor Recycling Law
Televisions and computer monitors generated as waste by households in Maine must be managed in accordance with Maine's E-Waste Law, which establishes a system in which consumers, municipalities, and manufacturers are responsible for ensuring that these items are properly recycled to reclaim all useable materials and prevent the release of toxins into the environment.
